QUINOA
For dinner I normally make some kind of brown or basmati rice. Lately
I've been making Quinoa instead. This healthy rice-like choice is technically not
a grain, but a seed. Quinoa tastes amazing and has all 9 essential amino
acids and is even gluten-free and cholesterol free.
It's takes less than ten minutes to make so it's convenient too.
I would love to say that I make it myself but I buy it at Trader Joe's frozen.
Yummm

I'm so glad you are blogging again. I love following Mandalizing. AND I love quinoa! I just started cooking with it. Didn't know the health stuff about it so thanks for posting that. I get mine at Trader Joe too. I do cook it from the raw state and it doesn't take long at all and the box says you can microwave it. Trader Joe just started stocking a a red quinoa. I just looked at the box and there is a great looking salad recipe with black beans, roasted corn and avocado. Dinner tonight??
ReplyDeleteI've heard that quinoa is absolutely amazing, though I haven't tried it... My sister can't have gluten and absolutely SWEARS by quinoa pasta.
